HLTFSE001 Follow Basic Food Safety Practices
(100% online) - $60pp
The HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices course, delivered 100% online by Salt Training Academy in partnership with Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), is designed for individuals working in health and community services who handle, prepare, or serve food to vulnerable people. This nationally recognised unit is essential for those supporting clients such as the elderly, children, pregnant women, and individuals with compromised immune systems or medical conditions. It’s especially relevant to learners living in Port Macquarie and across the Mid North Coast of NSW, where demand for safe and compliant food handling in aged care, disability services, and childcare is growing.
Participants in this course will gain the knowledge and skills needed to meet food safety standards in settings such as aged care facilities, hospitals, childcare centres, and community kitchens. The training covers hygiene regulations, food contamination risks, allergen management, personal health and hygiene, and the importance of cleaning and sanitising in food preparation environments. Through practical examples and clear explanations of the HACCP system, students learn how to manage food safety hazards and follow workplace protocols to reduce risk and protect vulnerable clients.
To complete the course, learners must demonstrate practical food safety skills through a Third Party Observation Report. This assessment must be conducted in a suitable food handling environment—such as a commercial kitchen, catering operation, or community centre—by a supervisor or manager who can verify the student’s competence. This makes the course ideal for those currently employed or volunteering in the health, aged care, or community sectors across Port Macquarie and surrounding areas.
By choosing Salt Training Academy for your online food safety training, you’re supported by a reputable provider committed to high-quality, flexible education in the Mid North Coast region. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised certificate issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909). Whether you're seeking compliance, professional development, or to meet employer requirements, this course delivers the practical, workplace-relevant skills to uphold food safety in environments that care for vulnerable people.
