Provide Advanced First Aid - $225pp
The HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid course, delivered by SALT Training Academy in Port Macquarie and the surround regions of the Mid North Coast NSW, equips participants with essential lifesaving skills to handle medical emergencies confidently.
This nationally recognised training covers a wide range of first aid responses, including:

perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, and
-
use an automated external defibrillator (AED) effectively.

choking

allergic reactions
-
burns
-
fractures
-
critical situations.

legal considerations
-
assess emergencies,
-
provide immediate care,
-
effectively communicate with emergency services.

assess complex emergency situations and provide advanced life support

managing multiple casualties

advanced care until professional medical assistance arrives
This unit is ideal for individuals working in high-risk environments such as construction, mining, sports, healthcare, and community services, where enhanced first aid capabilities are necessary.

​Upon successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment, valid for 3 years.

Course Delivery
This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.
Course Durations
Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Refresher Face to Face contact time of at least 16 Hours
-
Blended Face to Face contact time of at least 6 Hours
-
Face-to-Face contact time of at least 16 Hours
-
Online with face-to-face assessment Face to Face contact time of at least 6 Hours
Entry Requirements
Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins.
Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.
Assessment Requirements
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 36 months

Assessment Activities
Performance tasks and practical scenarios:

Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)

Complete a first aid incident report form based on the adult CPR simulated first aid scenario

Perform CPR on an infant

Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis
-
Manage a casualty with asthma
-
Manage a choking casualty
-
Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning
-
Manage a casualty with a nosebleed
-
Manage a casualty with a fracture and dislocation
-
Manage a casualty with a sprain and strain
-
Manage a casualty with envenomation (snake/ funnel-web spider bite)
-
Simulated First Aid Scenario - Manage a casualty with a life-threatening bleed
-
Complete a first aid incident report form based on the life-threatening bleed first aid scenario
-
Coordinate a multiple casualty incident
Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.
